I got my family a house at 21 years old

I remember running around in this house, playing with my siblings as one of my earliest childhood memories.

This is the rented one bedroom apartment I lived in along with my parents and siblings for pretty much all my life.

I started working at the age of 13. Not that I was compelled to, my father made sure that all our basic needs were met no matter what. He would walk miles just to save 10 rupees of bus fare and save every single penny he could. My mother who never bought new clothes and would borrow used clothes from her sisters to make sure her children had all their basic needs met.

No matter how much they hid, I could still feel a tiny bit of what they were going through.

When my father got me my first computer, which was a Pentium 4, it was a result of his months of savings. A couple of years later, we also got an internet connection, I was 13 at the time.

I immediately started searching for ways I could support my family using the internet. I landed on PTC (Paid to Click) sites, worked for months, and got scammed. I did every small gig I could find back then. Data entry, logo design, photo/video editing, content writing, SEO, social media marketing, you name it. If someone was willing to pay me a few bucks for doing a task I didn’t know about, I would learn it and get it done.

I was making enough to cover all my personal finances as a teenager plus giving a helping hand to my parents with some cash every month.

Fast forward to when I was 18, I enrolled in a university for a computer science degree and the rest is history, haha. I got into software development and started working early on.

I could see my parents getting old, I knew I had to do more. Getting my family a comfortable house at a good location where everyone had their own room was my dream. I have had this dream since I was 13.

Last month, I fulfilled this dream. I’m turning 22 this month, about to graduate from university.

It’s been a long journey for both me and my family. It’s been a long time coming.

No matter where I go from here or what else I accomplish in my life, this will remain the biggest accomplishment in my eyes. It will always have a special place in my heart.

To my parents:

“I will never be able to repay what you guys have done for me. This may not be equal to even a tiny bit of your struggle but consider this my effort in paying back. I remember when you guys used to sleep on the floor and saying “it’s comfortable” when we couldn’t afford a bed. I remember all of it. Enjoy your retirement in the new house!”

  5. I think Adeel is an incredible person, that inspires everyone everyday, it’s so hard to wake in the morning when you are in your twenties and instead of choosing yourself you choose your family. And that’s what Adeel has done from day one. From the first moment I met him I thought he was an incredible person, so selfless, so humble and caring. The person that will come to your rescue wbhen you’re sad or when you by your side.
